Books
Why not get the kids a library card and encourage them to roam the stacks. Libraries today have reading sessions, whereby a librarian or volunteer reads to the young ones. Also a good way for the kids to socialize. Barnes and Noble also has reading sessions.
UCLA has a great "Bookfaire". usually in April. It's free and lots of fun. Ck it out.
